Matsudo, Japan, June 24, 2013 - Precision System Science, Co., Ltd (PSS) and Precision System Science, USA, Inc. have reached an agreement to develop and manufacture a compact automated PCR cleanup instrument (nDS) for Abbott. The nDS purifies PCR products essentially free of salts and low molecular weight chemical noise.
The nDS will be designed to be a stand-alone, integrated system for automating the sample-preparation process to enable faster and more efficient testing for Abbott's bioidentification platform. To meet the higher requirements, nDS employs the Master Tip™, a new technology recently developed by PSS. The Master Tip™ is designed to address the demands for high-throughput and low system cost in molecular platforms. Incorporating the Master Tip™ is expected to help improve performance and laboratory efficiency.
PSS's focus is to further develop automated instruments in various areas to expand genomic analysis and in vitro diagnostics.
